Our Impact
Giving future generations the chance to live a Life Well Played.
“I don’t talk too much about my major accomplishments. I like to think that the things I’ve done off the course are how many will remember me.”
Arnold Palmer
He saw how crowded we were, but he saw the future. He saw the potential for success and he said, ‘We will do better.’ And we did do better because a few years later we were moving to the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. Without his commitment, without his passion, without the belief that he had in all of us — I’m talking about all the physicians, all the nurses, all the staff — we could not have accomplished what we have done in building two hospitals.

Dr. Alexander's relationship with Arnold and Winnie Palmer was the nexus to develop two state-of-the-art hospitals in Orlando: the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Dr. Alexander has served more than 40,000 babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Funding from the the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation helps fulfill our mission of providing access to our patients close to home with novel treatment options for their difficult-to-treat cancers. It also advances the field of pediatric oncology by improving outcomes, improving cures and reducing side effects for those patients.

We have built the Neighborhood Naturalist program into a thriving community of families with children that are excited to learn about the world around them. Children and parents alike look forward to class every week and we all enjoy being able to spend time outdoors together. None of this would be possible without the generosity of the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation!

IDEAS For Us launched Orlando's Lake Lorna Doone Park Neighborhood Naturalist program in June of 2021, with a specific focus on learning and growing an appreciation for nature by young children. With funding support from the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation, IDEAS For Us was able to offer monthly programs for both Pre-K - 1st grade students and open activities for any children from the surrounding community.
Pediatric oncology is a very complex specialty. Government funding primarily funds adult cancer research. About 4% of federal funding goes to pediatric oncology research. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer invested in the health and future of children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone who considers giving to the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation.

Our greatest need was bringing our youth who desired to participate as First Tee - Central Florida participants to the facilities where our coaches and volunteers provided life-changing program services. With immense thanks to the Arnold & WinnIe Palmer Foundation, we received a grant to purchase a 15-passenger van! This generous gift is a true game changer!

Obviously being Rookie of the Year was a huge honor, but being on his scholarship as well at Wake Forest — I always tell people, when you get offered the Arnold Palmer scholarship to go play golf, I think your decision on schools is kind of made for you.
